dent issue

Default dent issue

hello guys, was installing the front right speaker of my car and unhooked the door "hindge" that holds the door and the wind blew really hard and dented the piece rite above the antenna ....does this piece come off maybe i can bring it to the body shop separetly rather than bringing the whole car over there or no? thanksClick image for larger version

It comes off. There are a few torx screws on top, and you will need to remove the windshield wipers to lift it off

I thought I read somewhere that on some jeeps that piece of the cowling is actually welded to the front quarter panel, I hope for your sake I read wrong as that would suck.

the top part of it is screwed on wit the torx screws but the bottom looks like it might be welded, could be wrong...hope i am

When I dented mine I looked underneath the hood to see if I could remove it as well. I found that the panel was welded or tacked to the inside of the hood somewhere. It would be a major pain in the ass to remove it.

I believe you are right.


Edit: you can also buy some armor that covers the cowl too. forget who makes it though

its driving me crazy the car was really dirty when it happened and didnt notice, 2 days later when i got the car washed im like what the hell is that!

where can i find one of those torx drivers to remove the screws on the car? isnt supposed to come with one from the factory?
