Default Diesel has come

I read that a new engine has come to the grand Cherokee line up and it's diesel. It's a engine from over seas. I'd say that in the next few years or so the wrangler will have them. There was and Article in truck trend about how a lot of companies are bring diesels over.

I hear we landed a man on the moon. Just kidding ya, jeep announced it about 2 weeks ago. No firm word on a jk yet but the motor they plan on using is a joint owned by fiat-gm, should be nice,

I'm pumped I think it will fall over into the wrangler because they will already hAvd it here in the states and a lot of us ask for it.

ill be first in line for the new motor if it happens. maybe with the added weight and power the motor in the JKU, it will be more suitable for towing and they will raise the rating..

It's not the power holding the JK back at all it's the ever flexing-super articulating suspension. The Grand Cherokee and Durango have the same engine and transmission and only weigh a few hundred pounds more yet are able to tow 6400lbs.

Low end torque. Better mpg. Free fuel if in a co- op using recycled cooking oil. If using algae as source, USA can get out of the crazy Middle East. Terrorist will then deal with China as they become the nation using the most oil.

Couldn't get it pass the EPA. It's also heavier and the fuel costs more.
