Default Diesel JK Prototype Spotted in Rubicon Territory

I'm not sure if the word is out on this one or not, but I had two friends run the Rubicon about 3 weeks ago and they spotted a Jeep crew that was testing "new" vehicles. Among them was a 2.8 CRD JK and the new Grand Cerokee (which apparently was looking pretty beat up). They told my buddies that it was a 2011 (could have been 2012 ) I believe and was due in the U.S. Pretty sure this is accurate information even though not official.

What the US is going to catch up with the rest of the world. I think you will find they are testing export models.

I am optimistic none the less, and the drivers seemed to think it was US bound. BTW unfortunately no pics as it was not me that spotted it. kiwi- if you are right I would gladly move to New Zealand if you guys didn't have such strict immigration policies lol. That and unfortunately US medical degrees are not honored pretty much anywhere else in the world even though docs here go through an extra 2 years of formal training :(.

Since the 2.8crd has been in production as an export for awhile now not sure why they would be testing it, however it would be great if they did bring it here. It's also possible it was just running support for the new Grand which likely was being tested.

Oh Man, What tease! No pics, no credentials, pure rumor!
I'd trade in my 08 Rubicon like that if a Diesel JK came out.
