Jeep Brake Traction Control Explained

As far as manual QDs, I have the TF and it's really no problem. I'm going to get out of the Jeep to attach the Stantz tire deflators, so while they're doing their thing, I can get the TF QDs detached and stored--takes all of one minute. Putting them back on might take an extra minute or two (sometimes have to shove things around a bit to get things lined up), but it's no big hassle.

Thanks, this was a very interesting read. It kind of seems that the LSD with the BLD is a better choice for all around Jeep life. A rig set up with this should be able to handle moderately difficult trails and do well in winter conditions.

For $1300 I am pretty close to a B.B. and 33's on stock rims which should get me that much farther off road.

If anybody thinks differently or the same for that matter please chime in.

I am ordering this afternoon.

How often are they used?

I would assume LSD would be better in snow and rain.
The main reason I went with the LSD is because of driving on the highway with snow and ice. I have had one rear wheel drive vehicle with out LSD and it would get stuck with one wheel on ice and one on pavement.

The only vehicles I have used locking differentials on are my tractors and they are nice but you have to engage them manually. The LSD works automatically.

The LSD is not a replacement for lockers, but I believe it is a pretty good compromise.

Also, don't you have to be in 4LO for the Mopar Locker to engage?

I forget which thread, but someone on this forum had some cool advice about the parking/emergency brake instead of lockers.

He/she said that if you lift the e-brake enough to make 2 "clicks", the LSD will engage both rear tires -- a poorman's locker solution.

As far the disconnects, I'm ordering JKS Quicker Disconnects for $100 + shipping.

So, IT SEEMS that a $100+ solution may be better than the $1,300+ you were quoted. And this may work for you since your JK is primarily your daily-driver.

I have yet to try this advice and install the quick discos this weekend ... we'll see.

He said that for $1300 he will get BOTH E-disco and LOCKERS.

So i still say get them. If you will not, and then later you will love taking you Jeep off road you will REGRET not spending those 1300

Another option is to just get some quick disconnects and an aussie locker in the front. For someone who doesnt do anything extreme I think this would be a better fit. Especially financially.

Would the e-Disco be considered part of the drivetrain?
