I agree with most everyone here in saying that I wouldnt run with the rear doors removed with children that young. With that being said, I run doorless quite often with my 9 year old in the back and feel just fine about it. So what would all of you consider a decent age for doors off?

I would think once theyre old enough to not be in a booster seat, theyre old enough to hang out back there w/o doors.

I think I would feel more comfy around that 11 to 12 year old mark...but I'm kinda over cautious I guess

My wife has a rule to keep the back doors on with my 22 month old. But a few times we did city driving only with him with all doors off. He loves it!

I use a trip around the block w/o doors as a reward for my 3-1/2 year old. I couldn't see highway driving that way though. He likes to unbuckle himself when we park, so I could only imagine if he did that at 60 mph to pick up a toy or something.

My daughter has been riding w/ the doors off since she was three (3). The seat is secured with the latch system and she is in a five (5) point harness in the middle seat. How much safer could she be? I'm more concerned about having the top off and forgetting her sunscreen! Everybody to their own but I don't see a problem with it.

my 15 month old loves it with all four doors and top off with the rear seats folded down so he has room to run around. we've only lost a couple of toys and his older brother but i think he's ok with the extra room now.

Come on, anyone who even thinks its alright to do 80 with the rear doors off with their young children in the back seat is a complete moron!!! I have 2 boys, ages 6 and 4 and nomatter how much they beg, there is know way I will put them in that kind of danger. I'm sure they will understand when they get older. And to the poster who said keeping the rear doors on looks stupid - you would rather risk having your young child fall out or getting t-boned while doorless over your Jeep looking stupid? I hope you are only saying this because you dont have kids yet. I'm all for topless, doorless, etc., but when it comes to the safety of my children, if they are in the Jeep with me, the rear doors stay on and they are belted in.
