Its worse than that. I had an '89 Wrangler with half doors. These had NO locks. Tailgate did have a lock, but I never locked it.

Bastards still cut my windows. But since I never left much in the Jeep, nothing was missing.

Good thing was I found a local dealer that sold "window kits" so that I could just replace the cut windows instead of ordering a whole new top. Seems that Bestop no longer sells the windows on their own.

Still wish I could buy a true "Pull Out" radio like I had in that vehicle. I took the factory radio faceplate and made a 'plug' out of it, so when I left my Jeep, I yanked the entire Alpine radio and pressed in place the "plug" made out of the faceplate of the factory AM/FM radio. Never had anyone bother it.

In my CJs, I don't even have a top, so it's no big deal.

I'll never lock a Jeep with a soft top. it's like using a combo lock set to the factory 000. (^_^)

Are you sure that they come with power locks?

The one I saw with half doors didn't have any lock switch in the door, just a cicrcular paddle thing you pull to unlock the door. Maybe the switch is on the console.

Yeh, just leave them unlocked. One time I locked my keys in the Jeep and the top was down as it started to rain. It took AAA an hour to get there. By that time everything was soaked.

Default Locks

Remember, plastic tops/windows are like screen doors on a house with locks.....the locks are for the "HONEST" people. If they want it.....they'll get it. Like my formally owned, locked up tight(in my 87'Wrangler), S&W .357, that they used in a felony 4 days later .......well, I love the half doors and hopefully get them for mine.
