Default Drain plugs?

Hi guys!

So... um.... I took the doors off back in May, and I haven't put them back on since.

Unfortunately, we've been getting a TON of rain, and when I checked about an hour ago, I had about a 1/2" of water on my driver's side floor.

So, where exactly are the drain plugs?? Are they under the seat, or under where your feet go? I really need to get them pulled ASAP...

Thanks for your help! You guys are the best!

Okay. That was kind of helpful.

How do they pop out? Do I just pry them out with a screwdriver??

Cuz a couple of weeks ago, I did pull the rug up and see the little oval spot, and it didn't look like it was going to be easy to pull the plugs. I guess I envisioned something completely different than what I saw... LOL.

Thanks..

You just pull them. They come out real easy. No tools required.

I would pull your carpet out while you are at it so it does not mildew and start to smell. It comes out real easy too.

I was told the rug is made from some antimicrobial material so it wont grow mildow and mold. I don't know how true that is as it does start to smell funny after it gets wet.

As far as the plugs go... they are rubber. If you can't get your fingernail under it to get it out just push in the center and pop it through, then pick it up off the ground.

Check underside of carpet for 1'X1' white "Diaper" looking things in foot-well areas. Apparently some have them and some don't. Those Damn things hold a ton of water, get them out of there!

And so begins the saga of another Jeeper. Soon Shellikins will post statements like "Yours came with doors?" and "I haven't seen my carpets or plugs in years."

Well, I haven't had my doors on since May... but living in New England, I kinda have to keep them.

I still haven't gone out to survey the damage. I'm sure there's even more water today because all it's done since Sat. night is rain and storm. I'n not looking forward to going out there and pulling up my carpets. I don't have a garage or anywhere to store them. Usually, when they get wet, I leave them in and when the sun comes out, they dry on their own.

I don't think the sun exists anymore though... LOL. We've had SO much rain over the last month or so (sigh). All I wanna do is go topless! Is that so wrong?? LOL.

Not all of them. I haven't had all of them out, but I've looked underneath and some are over different components under the body. One is over the muffler, for example. But they do pull up quite easily.

awww the plugs. I was up in PA this weekend with just a bikini top on the JK. Yeah didn't work to well in the NE PA Rain storms, LOL! I had about 2 inches of rain in the JK My sons bowl was floating I found about 8 drain plugs and watched the water go down. The one that I didn't know about was the one in the jack area, yeah that was a lake in that compartment. My jeep is drying out now but I can honestly say I don't care if it gets drenched inside anymore.
