These do look nice. So do you have the vibration or folding in issues at highway speeds? Do you need to use the upper hinge screws to mount? Both or just one? Do these scratch the window frame when you put them on and off?

But from what I understand that's not legal in CA because the law states you have to be able to see 200 ft behind your car.

I had no problems with the mirror at the top of this page, from AutoZone, $15, I have it too. Unfortunately the panels on my JK are off by so much that I think the factory stripped the holes that those bolts go into, because I had a tough time putting it on and when I removed it, the bolt was stripped...sucks, 'cause now I can't re-use that mirror since I don't want to remove that bolt again so I need to come up with another solution.

No vibration on the highway, looks best, though it does kinda suck in that the reflection is really crappy. It's barely useful, but keeps you legal.

I used rubber gaskets, the type you put into a garden hose, between the mirror and the body of the jeep to keep it from scratching, and that worked fine. Just a gasket through each bolt, did the trick.

Also you have to drill out the holes because the mirror holes are too small for the bolts, but it's not too hard.

 

my bolts lined up fine , u do have to drill out the mirror holes to match the bolts , as far a scratching has not happen , the reflection is so so but u are legal

 

Thanks for the info guys. I picked up a pair today on lunch. I am going to try to install them tonight after my son goes to bed.

 

Well they are on and for the price I am impressed. No vibration and no slowly folding in at highway speed. I am a little disappointed with how low of a profile they are if they were just an inch taller you could see so much more out of them. Also the quality of the mirror surface isn't that good. During the day it looks tinted which at night helps to kill headlight glare. But there is also some minor distortion making cars look a little squished in the mirror.

For once stuff actually appears closer then it actually is but these mirrors don't have that little warning on them.

All joking aside these mirror are going to work out well. To install them all I had to do was drill out the existing holes and attach them to the upper windshield bracket mounting holes. If you try this be careful drilling out the slotted hole, the drill tends to grab and while trying to hold the boot out of the way I cut the heck out of my fingers.

 

I bought this for $10 at an auto shop. I just used the existing torx screw.......
