Default Electronic Throttle Control (ETC)

Hi friends- (I posted this elsewhere, but there's more traffic here, sorry)

My jeep has had, on occassion, a difficult time turning over when I start it. Today, the darn thing would not start. Finally, after 5 minutes, it turned over, albeit sluggishly. It ran rough and as I was heading to the dealer I could only get about 20 mph out of the Jeep. The ETC light was blinking.

I pulled into the dealer and he was less than helpfull, almost disinterested (an hour away from closing time). I went back out to the Jeep and it started fine, so I drove home. I got out the manual and read up on the ETC, p. 210, which recommends that I see a dealer ASAP.

I've been reading some blogs about this but havn't found anyone with a resolution.

Any of you ever have this problem? Is it common? How long did they have your Jeep for fixxing the issue? Suggestions? I have had this Jeep for 11 months, 12K miles.

Thanks

if your dealer is being a pain in the ass and not seeming concerned like most... find another one and have it checked out.

I had a problem with the ETC in my wifes 06 cherokee but with different symptoms. Her's either would or would not start, no in between, and would die in turns. Also once she was going down the interstate and lost all dash operations except for the warning lights that came on. It took two atays at the dealer (who was pretty good about it) and it cost me just under $300 (expired warranty) for a etc control module.

Wish I could remember better info. I was out of town and had to deal with the situation over the phone.
