Engine failures....?
This cracks me up ... was this the service writer or mechanic playing attorney?
I can see this was very well written...

Not sure whose idea it was. I don't know if they were trying to play it off like they might have had that conversation with me or not but we didn't. I think they were using that as a strong arm tactic to push for overpriced service. On another note, I took it in to them today to see if they wanted to run a scan to see why it keeps dying when at idle. It's gotten where I almost have to 2 foot the pedals to keep it from dying while driving it. They told me they wouldn't be able to look at it until tomorrow and I had kids to pick up from school soon. So, I left in it.... or tried to. It stumbled on the way out of their drive way on the highway feeder and died. It almost got me killed when the traffic had to panic stop.
I took it back to them right then and got another rental car. 5th one in two months.
Care to elaborate on that bad lot of parts? This is news to me. My dealer doesn't tell me anything. They know I used to be a mechanic so they are leary of letting any info out that I might use against them. They let it slip that there was an issue with the exhaust manifold bolts and that the material for the bolts was changed. My very next words were, "Well if you know they are going to fail, why not replace all of them now why you have it torn down?" They didn't know what to say.
