Default ESP light....?

So after a week of not driving the Jk I hear a chime and the OFF ESP light goes on as well as the one that reads ESP. This happened once before but it went away but this time I'm only able to get rid of the "slipping vehicle" light by pressing the ESP button on the dash.
One more thing is that I notice that even thou the AC light is off , I have very cold air coming thru the vents making me think that the AC is on.
I'm taking the JK in on Monday for the "recall" notice most of us got ( engine stalling) and mentioned this to the Service guy and his response was...uhm sounds like you have an electrical problem there, so instead of waiting you will need to leave it for the day... , anyway I'm not worried just curious if anyone else has experienced similar issues....
Thanks

HEK aka Hector

Default It happened to me once.

I am not sure if it was relevant, but it was one of the days where it was 112 here.

I had already driven the Jeep about 20 miles and made a pit stop.

When I started it up and pulled out of the parking lot ...both lights turned on, though I could tell that the ESP was not going off (I am used to the feeling by now- brakes taking over...) it was really weird because I was not in a turn or anything...

I hit the off button for the ESP and both lights went off.

...It hasn't occurred since that one rogue time.

Maybe TSB 08-010-07? That is the one where the steering angle sensor causes the ESP lamp to illuminate on pre-April 12th builds.

Thanks for the replies, I started the Jeep to get home from work and both lights were off........but I still think the AC stays on when we use the cold setting ( blue section ) and turn on the fan, it happened on both my previous cars but someon figured out a way of dissabiling the AC totally unless you specifically pressed the AC button, otherwise just cool air would come in thru the vents as needed.
I'm trying to locate the thread on the RSX Forum and see if if playing with the settings I can make the AC come on demand and not "all" the time...thanks again...

hey coltc2000, I had the reflash for the engine light on months back and all was good up until last month when it happened, mostly when the JK stays parked for more than a day, like last week we went on vaca and took the TL as we did mostly highway driving and I needed the speed ....anyway let's see what happens. thanks for the reply.

Come to think of it- mine was parked through the weekend when it happened...
Why would that cause it?
& What is reflash?

I'm not sure why this happens when the Jeep stays parked for a period of time..... , but the reflash is a software upgrade that some of our JK's needed to correct some minor but annoying issues, like an engine/ battery lights coming on and staying on, radios cutting off....and IMHO this made my JK perform like it had a V8 and not like a sluggish V6, something I didn't expect when I got it back.... , I hope when they "re-program/ update the software" this coming Monday for the "engine stall recall" they don't take the "performance" away like I had it when I 1st bought it, but coming from having "Honda's" all of my life and being this my 1st JEEP/ American made vehicle I thought it was a JEEP thing.....
