Financing question
both terms were 39 months.
The same deal they quoted me is on the hummer website. Click specials, then H3 and it will show you the terms. The funny thing is that Jeep has a lease special showing on their web site as well. The lease is for $269 with $1999 down. When I asked about this special they said it was a bare bones 4 door JK. No top, no a/c...nothing. There is no way anyone can buy it that way. Just wait till it rains

I also appreciate the info, thanks.
They showed me the book on the JK and it had a break down of the different models with what options, standard equipment, etc. It said n/a on the top. So it seemed believeable.

.Typically when a manufacturer shows a lease special it is discounted to make that payment possible and some dealers do not want to discount a hot product. You should be able to get that lease special at any Jeep dealership assuming that the vehicle is identical to the special vehicle. In many cases the manufacturer will show these specials with lease loyalty but there is no loyalty on the JK at this time.
Fight for the price, and if they won't give it to you then shop around. It is a valid payment.
Also, the soft top is standard but that doen't mean that you are dry in the rain! LOL
thanks for the quick reply. i've been a little skeptical about this deal. i'm currently driving a fully loaded 2005 grand cherokee that stickered for $42,200. my lease payment is $549.
now, i want this sahara (same dealer) which stickers for $11,000 less, and the payment only went down 50 bucks.
i'm going to see a few dealers tomorrow.

I think, from reading your previous posts, that you may be going through the same crap that I did.
I have bought 6 straight vehicle from my sales person and he has become very comfortable with me. I leases my wifes van in December and his lease price seemed high. I called another dealer who quoted me $60 less. Of course he matched it.
Then my JK came in last week and the deal we had worked out months ago was not possible. I walked and was actually walking into another dealer to take delivery when he called and gave me the original deal. I really did not want to buy it from him this time, but my loyalty took over.
Anyways, to get to the point, even if you plan to buy from that dealer, shop around. Dealers will know that because of your loyalty they can get more money from you. Make sure that you are not getting screwed. I think you will be surprised.
defkon,
When considering a lease keep in mind your long term objectives. The advertised lease on the Jeep web site is for a low milage lease (10,000 per year usually) also if you intend to go off roading you will be responsible for wear and tear at the end of the lease. This could add up big time with off roading wear and tear. If you intend to use the buy option at the end of the lease that's a different story. Off roading and leases do not mix well you would be better off taking advantage of a low interest rate auto loan on a purchase if you intend to do some serious off roading. Just something to think about.

You may want to buy the thing.
If you take a $24,000 vehicle with $2,000 down and finance $22,000 over 72 monts at 7% you will pay $375 per month.
I did 72 mos on my JK and am making double payments. I figure I would rather have the lower payment if we have a tight month, but there is no penalty to pay it off early.
The leases on the JK are not really great and in the long run you are much better to buy it.
Why not pay $50 a month more and own it. Trust me, you are not going to want to drop a dime into a leased vehicle. Once you have it you will want to mod it to make it your own. And you won't have to worry about miles.

UPDATE:
Okay, so there is 5 Jeep dealers surrounding my area. I spoke to all of them today and even visited a few. And they pretty much all said they same thing over and over again. First, they all said that the true base model doesn't come with a top, a/c, 4x4, pwr windows, pwr locks, etc (keep in mind is all I asked was what come with the base). It's as basic as they come. When I said that others have told me this isn't the case they said people think that because 99% of them are sold with those features, the "base package" which I believe is called "C" or "S" comes with the soft top. Which I can imagine, considering it isn't possible to drive without it.
Now we get into finance. Which I talked about lease and buying. First the lease, which through the dealer may be the worse lease program I've seen in a while. I had quotes ranging from 330 to 400 which is terrible for a 20K truck with nothing in it and no creature comforts. Then we started talking about buying rather then leasing. Which I really don't want to do, but I wanted to look at all options. The purchase payments ranged from 430 to over 500. This is absolute BS, I'm not paying that for a 20K vechile with nothing in it. Please keep in mind my credit is great, my FICO score is 765 and I have low balances on my credit cards and my oldest account is over 20 years old. So this isn't a credit issue. My only other option to get this Jeep is to find my own financing considering Jeeps finance options sux. But the problem with that is I don't know of anyone who does leasing, I can only find info on buying. So if anyone knows of a company that does this in the Tampa (or Florida) area, please let me know.
So to make a long story short, this leaves me no where. And unfortunately leaves me looking more towards the hummer. Which I am not in love with, but it comes with everything the jeep doesn't, it's cheaper monthly and has a higher value. I'm also going to be looking at a few other trucks over the next week to be sure. And I am not giving up hope on the Jeep...but it is looking grim right now.

That is just crazy! My payments are just over $450 for a fully loaded Sahara. Good luck! Walk into a Credit Union or Bank and get pre-approved. With a credit score like yours, you should be able to get the lowest interest rate possible. My CS was 695 and I got a very low respectable rate. Of coarse the finance company I have gone through before (even though I did'nt know it at the time).
I went through my credit union and got 6.75% for 72 months at my credit union. This was 10 days ago.
You have to look at other sources than the banks. I also have excellent credit and was getting over 10% at Chrysler and other banks. When I called the credit union they gave me the great rate.
I have all of my stuff through the credit union and have been very happy.
Find one near you and I am sure you will be satisifed. I just did a quick google search in your area and there are a bunch.
Especially in FL, you will regret the H3. Get a JK and enjoy the removable top!!!
