With the FJ and H2 dead... what will step up to 'compete' with the JK?
For the ten millionth time, the FJ is not dead. There is a 2010 model and Toyota has announced no plans to discontinue it so far.
Also Hyundai had mentioned something about making a Wrangler competitor, but so far they are just toying with the idea.

Even though they won't, I think it would be cool if Ford brought back the original Bronco, straight axles, removable top, V8 or Diesel, I think that would be pretty cool.

X2, Oh yeah, and the FJ definitely isn't dead, but it still is ugly.

Yeah the FJ isnt dead as its been stated. They are scaling back production a bit because they made too many too fast and saturated their lots.
I too think that an asian company will come out with a Jeepesque vehicle. Probably style it with a soft top, removeable doors etc. Basically a clone of sorts. "we may not look the same but I can do what you can do but without the Iconic History!"
