Fuel Door: Difference Between 2-dr & 4-dr?
i noticed that mopar has different part numbers for the fuel door for a 2-door jk & a 4-door.
did jeep really go to the trouble of building different fuel doors? and if so, what's the difference?
i can get a good deal on a fuel door, but it's for a 2-door and i have a 4-door.

i asked someone selling the fuel door on ebay if there is a difference and this was his reply:
YES THERE IS, ALOT OF THEM ON EBAY ARE LISTED AS FITTING BOTH. THE SHROUD ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE DOOR IS CLOCKED IN A DIFFERENT POSITION FOR MOUNTING.
does this make sense? i think if the 4-door fits on wilbur, the 2-door version should fit on mine. i'm thinking worst case, i have to drill a couple holes.

There's an alignment pin for the covers and they are different between the 2 JK's. One is at 12:00 and the other is at 9:00. The alignment pin is part of the plastic back and bends. I guess you could cut it off. With 3 screws being the mount and 3 screws fake I don't think it would matter. I bought one of each for ours.
