Last year I made what I thought was a educated purchase on a lift kit. I saved my money and got a kit i could barly afford.. I got fulltractions ultimate 4" lift.

The lift worked well for about 4 months. then came the control arm bushing noise from all the upper arms at the frame. It took me some time to realize this was the problem, I did not think it was my control arms because they kit was new and was supposed to be one of the top brands.

Once I found out the problem I contacted both northridge and fulltraction to find out my options. A fulltraction rep informed me that my existing control arms where outdated and I needed to buy their updated arms at a cost of 550$ I was not happy to hear this because the kit is only 1 year old... I was not even offered a discount on the arms. I feel I should have gotten the arms for free because the kit is only 1 year old. If i had bought this kit 8 months or so later everything would have been ok.

fulltraction said they would mail me out new bushings for free.. ok this sounds good. lets see what happens..

3 weeks later I ask where are my bushings? Then I am informed that northridge Canada is mailing them out to me so I call them and poor Stan has no idea what I'm talking about because no one informed him.. He says he doesn't even have the bushings. Now it's been over a month and the shipment to canada was missed... so I am waiting up to another 2 weeks dealing with this horrable noise... Northridge is dealing with this and getting the joints to me asap, thank you northridge.

Note to fulltraction:

I offroad often. Each time I go out other jeepers hear my horrible sounding fulltraction lift kit. They get my story and it's not a good one. No one wants a lift kit that makes this much noise..it does not look good on fulltraction and also makes my jeep sound like a peace of trash... this is so frustrating on a daily bassis! I'm so done with this kit and the noise.. I offroad with many JK's none of them have fulltraction kits and none of them have suspension noise

If I had the money I would completely redo the suspension and go with a Rancho long arm lift. Or Rockrawler or something

this has been a very negative expensive experience.. the name fulltraction was a name I was proud to talk about ... now I don't know.

I'd like to be clear that this is no a bad review about Northridge. they have been nothing but good to me since day one. They are still the only place I shop for jeep parts and I will continue to do business with them till then end of offroading

Tom,

I'm very shocked to read this post. I have taken care of you on this, For you to say I have done nothing is completely unfair. You know the issues you have had was from lack of maintenance. You admitted this yourself. However we still sent out complete replacement bushings for your entire kit. I did upgrade the lowers to the SRS bushings for FREE..

I'm sorry for the shipping delay to Canada. There is nothing more I can do.

The $400.00 upgrade for your kits is DISCOUNTED. Complete upper control arms front and rear for the JK are $542.98. plus $40 for lower bushings.

I'm sorry you purchased the kit prior to the switch over to the SRS bushings. We are helping everyone to switch over to the new style and a discounted rate.

They even sent me the stock CA type bushings in the past, and I was very happy with the service. However, I wish they would figure out tghe noise issue. Offroad the FT kit performs reall well, I've added another company's coils to raise the lift height and added rear Currie Anti Rocks. But it is loud as can be.
I've contacted FT and spoke with someone whom said to send pictures to the sales@full........com link on heir website, I never even asked them to warranty the product. Understood that my kit was a few years old, and that I would have to pay for replacement parts.
I sent them a follow up e-mail a few days later, and no I didn't call again. Someone should be monitoring their e-mail system as they were expecting my e-mail with pictures anyway.

To this day I have not heard from them. It has been about 3 weeks since my last e-mail. Might not been a very long time, but long enough to know that you are forgotten about.

So, I hear your story and feel for you. I have the same noice issues that you have with my FT kit. I might have to look into a Rock Krawler lift kit at some point, once I have saved enough money.

BTW, I bought my FT kit from Northridge and would buy from them again in a heart beat.

Sorry If we missed your email. Please send them to Chrisb@full-traction.com

If anyone has issues please call or email me. If you don't hear back with 24 hours from an email Please call.

I had said in the post that you had send me new bushings to replace the old ones I'll Change it to show free. I simply feel that due to the kit being so new I should have been sent new arms or at least at a discounted price. I feel I should not have to invest another 600$

I have only had the kit for 1 year. 4 months in the noise started. I wasted my money and don't exactly have the funds to invest another 600$ into a kit that's already cost me so much.

The kit performs and flexes well.. it just does so very noisy even on the street it's noisy... it's embarrassing and looks bad on fulltraction and me. this is my daily driver so I have no choice but to deal with the noise. I now take the bus as often as I can.

We both loose

PS thank you for sending out the lower bushings no one had informed me about that. I thought I was only getting new upper joints. Thank you for sending the extra joints at no charge. And all the joints at no charge

He said it was $400 for the upgrade in his first post. But if you bought a computer and they came out with a newer processor the next month would you expect them to send you a new one for free or even discounted? A year is a long time for anything to be upgraded. It does suck, I will side with you on that, but as far as saying youre getting an unfair deal, id have to respectfully disagree.

I'm with you on this one. His luck sucks, but it sounds to me like they are trying to make it right. Some people expect so much more and don't want to pay for it. In the long run, it's the swindler that makes it impossible for everyone else to get good deals. Good luck with your lift kit and I hope it works out for you in the end.

fulltraction is " no " swindler thats for sure. This is starting to look like bad timing now that I see this out in the open. My fellow offroaders up here feel differently. Even when I assure them im getting the replacement parts they feel that the upgrade should come discounted or free. money is always an issue especially in today's economy. If money had been no issue I would have gotten the long arm lift and probably wouldn't be having this problem now.

I can't help but think if I went with the competition there would be no problems
right now

If the new bushings solve the noise I'll be a happy camper and will glabdly post about the hopefully positive ending to the problem

I bought a TV last year and recently Sony came out with a new 3D version of my TV. I sent them an email and demaned they upgrade my TV to 3D for free, but they also said no and that I would have to buy a 3D kit at full price. I feel your pain.

Chris at Full Traction stated that new arms and bushing are $600. As the OP stated he is getting the setup for $400; so there is a discount.
