Default getting mud off the soft top

Hey guys and gals I know this has probably been covered but I can't find it. Got a bunch of mud on my soft top. On the very top and the side windows, Pretty much all over. I can't get it off with normal soap and water. Is there some type of brush that is safe to use to scrub? What about a type of cleaner. Something besides the best top cleaners. Is it ok to use Simply Green on it? Not the windows just the top itself.
Thanks in advance
Andrew

I use a stiff-bristle finger nail brush with dish detergent. Works well on the fender flares too. DO NOT use it on the windows - you'll scratch the crap out of them.

I wasn't planning on using it on the windows themselves just the top. Thank you for ur input.

303 Convertible Top cleaner from Checker Auto works well .... You still have to
Scrubb though ...It also works well on the fender flares...

You think they would have that at Auto Zone?? What about Simple Green will that work?

Never tried the simple green, should be fine. I use the soft bristled plastic brush, soap & water and elbow grease. You can find the brushes at any Wal-Mart/grocery/dollar store in the cleaning section. I think I saw that cleaner (or something similar) at Autozone or O'rileys.

We have plenty of that sticky stuff here in MS also. Makes me want to live in one of those brown states with all the rocks.

I think the faster you get the mud off, the easier it is to get off. We like to go to one of the self serve car washes right after we get off the trail and use the high pressure water to spray it down real good. Then, as other have said, use a scrub brush to get off whatever is still remaining (be careful of the windows, they scratch easily). Then follow up with 303
