Default Getting rained on?

Have you ever left your top off and got your Jeep rained on real bad? For the newer Jeeps with the Yes fabric, is that stuff waterproof, or just "stain proof"? If the seats and or floor might be OK if it gets rained on, what about the rest of the stuff? like the radio, heater, speakers, etc? Will it all be ruined?

YES seats are not waterproof. I bought a set of water proof seat covers (they work great). If you do get heavy rain in the jeep. Pull the carpets out, pull the drain plugs, and try to park in the sun with the top down. DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOWS AND TOP with water still in the jeep. You will have a mildew smell in there for about a week or two. I learned that the hard way. Head unit, speakers, and heater should be fine though.

Oh so the rug is removable? does it just attach with clips or something like that? So then I guess there's companies that sell waterproof floors that you add yourself? Or if I just order "all weather floor mats" that's all I'll need?

I'm currently driving an Element and that's one feature I like. I know that if I get a Jeep I will be lazy enough to leave the top down and not realize till I need to drive somewhere the next day. I don't want to have to sit on trash bags so I guess I'd invest in waterproof covers too then. I had a pathfinder with a sunroof a while back, and left it open overnight way too many times

Now that I think about it.... all these years the Jeep has had soft tops... why ISN'T it waterproof? They should have an option for no rug and waterproof seats
