Default Good place for a jerry-can?

A friend of mine sent me this photo and suggested that I start carrying extra gas around using this modification:

Personally I wouldn't do it. I've never been fond of using bungee cords for keeping things in/on a vehicle.

Don't get me wrong I use them to keep things from moving around, but not as the primary means of keeping stuff in/on the vehicle. Looks like an accident waiting to happen.

I like it, very safe, shouldn't fall off on a trail or driving down the street

I would NEVER mount the gas can there. Thas has to be the STUPIDEST place on the entire Jeep to mount it. I could just see it leaking onto the motor and starting a fire. KAAAABOOM
