Just curious how this will turn out so here goes... If you are in the market for a new JK right now, would you:
A) Go for it now and try to score an excellent deal on a 2011
B) Wait for the 2012
C) Wait out the new models problems a year or so and go for a 2013
Include all of your reasons. Pros, cons, etc. Let's see it!

I'll start it off. Wait on the 2012!
I already have a 2009 JKU X so I have a jeep in the meantime.... I dont feel the pressure as much as those currently without a jk.

All reports I'm reading about the cost of cars/trucks/etc.. coming out next year will be higher prices to account for the rise in commodity prices (i.e. oil). Who knows what the 2012 will cost when it hits the market but if it follows what analysts are predicting, expect a couple of thousand extra per model.
While the appeal of the new engine sounds nice, people are saying maybe 1 to 2 mpg better than what we are getting now.....if it were me, I would try and get a deal on a 2011. I bet the price difference between a 2011 and possibly what a 2012 will cost might be huge.
of course I did drive a grand Cherokee with the pentastar engine and loved it....

There will always be an excuse to wait for the next model year. If you wait for 2012, you'll hear about a diesel coming out in 2013.
Buy now, drive now, enjoy now.
