8 months ago I called my dealership because one of the tabs was broken on my glove box and I was missing the underhood lamp (had the harness though)
They got in the new glovebox but it was the wrong color. "No biggy, call me when the right one comes in. Shortly after that it came in. I asked the service manager if he would just hang on to it until I needed to come in for something else. He said, no problem.
Here it is 8 months later and I called to see if I could bring it in for the stall bug recall. "When would you like to come in" he said. I told him I could be there in an hour. When I get in there I told the service writer about the glove box and light. He said he'd check it out.
I went back to parts to pick up a few misc items. When I was walking out I told the service writer I was going to walk over to Costco, just call me when it's done. He said don't go anywhere, you're almost done. I put three guys on it since your such a good guy!
(Must have been slow, but I'll take the compliment!) Anyway, it got flashed, a new glove box, and a shiny new underhood lamp!
When I started it up the sway bar light was flashing. I pointed it out, they apologized, reflashed it and sent me on my way.
What dealer will hang on to a part for you for 8 months? Not many. This service survey will get an A+
