Help on Installation by freindly jeepers
I have a teraflex 2.5 inch coil lift. I've been planning on installing it for a couple of weeks now, but I don't have any experience with installing a lift. I'm wondering if anyone around Georgia would like to met up and help me install it. I figure this is also a great way to met new jeepers as well. I'll be providing food/drinks. The more the better! Hoping to get this done (with some help) in a day. Hope to hear from some people! Thanks guys.
If you were closer...
We just did a 2.5" OME lift on my 2 door last night.
Pretty easy. Started in first quarter of the Hawks AZ game last night and finished at the end of halftime.
Just need two tall jack stands and a reccomend a 4 ton floor jack since you'll lift the entire Jeep one end at a time.
Dig out your 18mm socket and open end wrenchs. 13/16" for the track bars. 10mm for the brake line brackets. 19mm for the sway bar links.
Couple install tips.
Disconnect shocks, brake line brackets, sway bar links, track bar and axle breather hose before you lower the axle.
For rear axle remove the e-brake bracket on the bottom of your Jeep, wire hanger by the carbon box thing.
Make sure front springs are indexed into the lower perch correctly. There's a notch they fit in.
Grease up the lower shock bolts before re-assembly. They tend to rust along the threads and fuse permanantly to the metal shock sleeve after a couple years.
Watch placement of the jack stand on the passenger side for the rear axle.
It can puncture your plastic gas tank if placed into to the hole in the skid plate.
Didn't do it but came close.
Start soaking bolts in PB Blaster now if you plan to do this in a few days.
good lcuk man!
