I'll have to get new tires sometime this year for my JKUR. I've narrowed down my choices based off of looks, features, & being under $300/tire. The choices are Cooper Discoverer STT & Fierce Attitude M/T. I'm basically wondering if anyone could help me out with "real world" specs? I like the fact that the Cooper's are M+S and I'm wondering if the Attitudes have the same rating? I've checked info on the Attitudes and couldn't find that rating, but I could've over looked if they are rated that. I'm thinking of going from the Rubi 32" to a 33" or 35", any suggestions for back spacing on rims? I have a 2.5" lift now and I'm thinking of going to Rusty's 3.25". Is there a such thing as a universal back spacing that will work with both lifts?

I also do not want to regear. My JKUR is an auto 3.8L w/4.10. I'm hoping the 4.10's are more than sufficient?

Thanks.

My rubi has the same engine/trans combo as yours. I put on the cooper stt but in 37s with a 2.5 lift a couple of weeks ago with 1.5 spidertrax wheel spacers with my stock rims and only get a slight rub at full lock( washers will fix that). I plan on regearing soon but where I am is not that hilly so in the mean time I just shut off O/D and it does just fine. Since your lifted I'd get the 35s as I feel it'd fill out your jku better. The 33s would only be slightly bigger than the stock kms and you don't want to spend all that money and regret not getting 35s from the get go. Many have done it and ended up spending money twice. As for lift, you can run 35s with a 2.5 lift without much fuss and it would take you pretty much anywhere you want to go. Since you already have a 2.5 lift why do you want to go higher? It's easy to get caught up in going bigger but if you can run 35s on 2.5 lift there's really no point to go higher. Not trying to sound mean just trying save you some money or possibly put that money towards something more useful.

I'd go with the 35's no doubt. They'll fit fine with your current lift. I like the post above would keep the lift and sink that money elsewhere. As far as the tire types, I have no personal experience with either. I've heard good reviews on both though. If it were me I'd probably go with the coopers though.

I have the stts in 35 and I love em. I would keep the 2.5 lift. I ran 3.21s for a while wasn't that bad so I imagine your 4.10s to be fine.

Thanks for the suggestions. Main reason why I would like to go to the 3.25 lift would be for more clearance because I want to go with Smittybilts I think xrc rocker guards (the ones with the three tube design with step). But I do see everyone's point about keeping the 2.5" lift.

Sadly to say I won't be getting larger tires anytime soon though because I got a good deal on a 2014 JKUR. A lot of thought was put into this deal since I already have a remanufactured engine after only 34,248 miles due to assembly issues and now at 37,500 miles brand new tranny lines running to the tranny cooler (mishap from the remaned engine install). I'm going to take off my 2.5" and swap it over. But would I need a "loop delete" pipe for a 2.5" lift?

How well do the STT's perform in snow, rock, & mud? Do you have any "chunking" when in the rocks?

Default Help on tire choice...

I've been running Cooper ST Maxx for 8 months now and love them... Did a 5000 mile road trip back in Jun/Jul, from very wet conditions on the Oregon coast Hwy ( stuck like glue ) a great stable ride on the PCH, wheeled at Pismo never got stuck, and 120f temps in Vegas/ Death Valley .. Very quiet on HWY
Off road and aired down they give my JKU great traction in all conditions, no chunking

One spot where one chunked just a tiny bit, but I was playing on a lava flow, they tend to have some very sharp edges, so it's more of a sliced off corner than a chunk. Work great on "normal" rocks awesome in mud and snow. Think I've put about 8k miles now and I go play at least twice a month.
