I still dont understand how your jacks are to short to touch your axle.. like previously stated, jack up the front end, place stands under frame rails behind control arms, take of tires, and lower down onto stands!

Princess Auto is Canada's Harbor Freight. Some decent prices on 3 and 6 ton stands.

Yo battlefrog.... I think like the one poster above says..... I have 4" of lift 35" tires my stands at max height are only just above 16"
There is not one place under my jeep it reaches( I was underneath it looking) all 4 tires on the ground. The closest it came to touching was near the rear tire I think where a control arm came down.... But it didn't look like a secure place it wasn't the frame..... Frame still a good couple inches higher.
It's 11:30 pm here I'll check again tomorrow..... BUT I may want to get stands that reach 24" so I have more options.... I'm guessing some stands must reach that height.

OK WHAT ABOUT if I get two 6 ton Jack stands( they go up to 24") AND just use the Jack I got with my jeep to raise the jeep high enough to get off the ground to remove a tire and rest them on the two stands. Will that work???? I don't even know if the Jack that came with the jeep reaches that high now with my 4" of lift and 35" tires..... ANYONE KNOW if it will? Thx

Jack it up where the diff is lower it down on to the jack stands change tire also I don't know it you have ever tried to change a tire that big but get a pry bar to lift the tire back up to put the nuts back on ( saves your inner thigh)

Default place JACK/stands under axle???

Ok you guys..... When jacking up my jeep to change the tires..... Manual says put Jack under axle for both front and back positions..... Correct right?
So I can put Jack stands under the axle too while I change out the tires(one at a time of course)? Is there a better area?? Can I use JACK STANDS on the side frame too as per my poor picture illustrates? Pics to follow.... Thx again

When I jacked up my Jeep to do my lift I had a jack stand under the frame on either side and a floor jack under the axle. When I had to lower the axle I just slowly cranked down the floor jack. Worked for me. Just do it on real stable ground and chalk the wheels that are on the ground. I only had one end (either front or rear) jacked and propped at a time. Better safe than sorry.
PS - This ain't professional advice. It's my opinion and the way I did it. It worked for me.
