Default Holey Crap...

This Warn 9.5ti is HEAVY.... heck, the roller fairlead is heavier than i thought too.
ok, so its my first "electric" winch... first one i'll install... last one i'll ever buy.

Plus, i'm glad i got the nicer remote, with the teeny tiny flashlight in it...
the remote pictured on the site i ordered it from, looked like the newer round looking one (w/o light) that looked kind of cheap.

Just cant wait for my LOD stuby to show up.

So, whats the average wait time any of you SoCal locals have had for a LOD bumper..?

also, any idea how much weight they pull when they roll the line on at the factory..? i am sure it will still need a good stretching... Hmmmm...

Default Congrats on your winch

Hi Redrock

Good choice Warn all the way. Are you the same Redrock that came on the Cleghorn run with Lensman Boxer and Tycoon? I think you had your Wife and Daughter with you that day. If so glad to see you knockin the stock off your JK. Have you made other mods?

I really like the looks of the LOD stubby. I just can't decide between that or another stubby that I have my eyes one but it almost twice as much.

Hey Lensman.... Yep, its me...
I like the 9.5ti for being sealed up good without the extra solinod box sticking up to get knocked off... and this one has a nice low profile and should fit good in the stuby. So i'm waiting for it to show, should be here in a week or so.
Plus i have a CB so i can hear whats going on, been checking out the Aussie Locker, so when i do get gears, i'll lock the front. But for now, i should be a little better suited for the trails.

We actually went out "geocaching" last weekend, the wifey had fun, we get some exercise out of it, and do some wheeling too... get to play with the GPS and see new stuff. Enjoying it all every chance i get.

Cool... i've been wondering how long it would take, they say 4-6 weeks, so i'm at about 3 weeks now... the winch came in yesterday... so its sitting here looking at me...

I'll give the guys at LOD another week before i ring em up, it sounds like they are busting ass to keep orders filled and wheelers happy.

I hope it gets here before the 15th... (surgery, gonna be down for a week)
then i'll have to sit here and look at them both... just looking up at me, begging to be bolted on....

I wanted the stubby that would allow a winch down between the frame, with the small hoop, and still have the fogs (even if i swap them out for something with more power)... so the LOD stubby fit all my needs. I think it has a couple of light tabs for some extras.

The plastic mud catcher has to go...

Yeah the original LOD stubby design (and i think the first wave of ones produced and shipped out) had no light tabs. I was fine with that becuase i was going to just drill into the top of the bumper to mount the lights. I was suprised when i got the bumper to see LOD added two light tabs on the top of the winch hoop. Now i have to decide how to mount my 8" KC's, i might mount them upside down, with the light tap on the top of the lights since the winch sits so low in the bumper.

Just got the winch and bumper installed yesterday

LOOKIN GOOD..!!!
SO... the light tabs are out towards the ends of the hoop right..? so that sould look AWESOME...

i'm taking the JEEP emblem off... i guess the big "W" will show on the winch and see how that looks over the LOD emblem.

if i can ever get all the bug guts off the jeep...

oh, could a guy mount that bumper/winch combo by himself..? without too many lost knuckles?
