Home made snorkel options?

I'm curious what your reasoning is to try this ?
Routing the piping around and through the dash subframe and wiring, or cutting chunks out the corner of dash to route a snorkel up the windshield is a decent effort to win clean air sucked from the interior, instead of using exterior filters from the multiple aftermarket snorkels that have already been tested and designed.

The engine will suck several hundred cubic feet of air a minute through the passenger compartment, not likely a smart way to do it. Your heater likely wouldn't work and you'd probably have to leave your top off or windows down.

I personally would never try it. There is a reason to it behind out there plus I try not to cut my firewall too much. A hole that big could be bad. However, with that said, I have absolutely no problem taking a sawsall to my rig, lol. Ask my wife.

my reasoning is i dont want to cut any holes in my hood or exterior parts. i have the materials needed to route into the cab. the noise is not the issue im concerned with. will it have any other negetive effect by routing into the cab?
