The better business bureau is a good idea. I had a problem a couple of years ago. Short version is I bought a new Corvette with polished wheels, the polish job was awful and was acknowledged by the dealer at delivery. The GM zone guy would not replace the wheels only send them out to be re-polished. I put on aftermarket wheels due to the 2 week turn around. The re-polish was actually worse than factory and they wouldn't do anything more. I filed with BBB and within 3 days GM agreed to refund me the price of the option.

It's probably wise to see what Chrysler says before filing. Good luck!

True, but sometimes just the threat of a lawyer will fix their perception. They know they are in the wrong, but they are trying to put the burden on you. Legaly they have to prove that they are not at fault and I dont think they can do it. But once again I recommend getting a lawyer as laws in your area may be different.

I am a little lucky in the fact I have a good friend who is a lawyer. I had him draft a letter to the dealership stating he had been hired to represent me in the event I decided to go to court and that he was hoping the dealership would "make things right" before it went that far. The day they recieved the certified letter I got a call stating that they had "got permission" to fix my issues. Problem solved.

Check with some 4wd or off-road shops and see if they know of any mod friendly dealers that will cover it under warranty. I did that and got a brand new transfer case, no questions asked.

Not to take the side of the dealership, but my neighbr use to be the Maintenance Manager for a local C/J dealership for 20+ years. That delaership has closed, and he moved to another of their stores.

Back to the defense: A lot of the warranty work being done by dealerships is not being reimbursed by Chrysler. The dealerships are then hessitant to do the work if they are not going to get paid. Not sure if that is an issue in your case, but may explain their reason to ask first.

Thumbs down

Now it is in my garage and I am waiting for the Penetrating oil to soak into the exhaust nuts. After this vehicle and after the way I was treated by Chrysler I will be buying foreign next time. A friend of my has an Xterra that has never had a single problem with it, and Nissans Customer service is excellent. They also didn't have to be bailed out by Obama bin Laden.

not to rain on your parade more or anything, but I think customer service depends on the dealer. Oddly enough here our Nissan dealers are terrible. Haven't had to deal with Jeep dealers here yet, so I have no base of comparison for dealers. I will say the one dealer that has impressed me is Acura. They treat me like damn gold every time I took my wifes car in for service. They treated her with the same respect when I wasn't with her. I stopped going there cause her car is starting to age and the service was just getting too expensive.
