As an alternative to the Cloverpatch, I use the duffle by Bestop. I got it from Quadratec, so you could probably find it on their website.

As I recall it was a bit cheaper than the Cloverpatch but works on the same principal -- rolls the windows between sheets of felt. The difference is the rear window rolls the short way rather than the long way. But it rolls fine with no ill effects. Whole thing secures to the tailgate bar with a couple of webbing straps.

Edit: I just looked. Costs nearly the same as the cloverpatch. I don't remember it being that pricey.

What do you do with the rear window bar?

I built a shelf above my garage door.

seems to work ok, though I'd make it bigger next time.

I use four soft towels that I put between each window. roll them up an put them in one of the nylon bags that are used for folding chairs.

I had that happen to me once the first time I used it, but then realized I had put the side windows in the wrong way and it wrinkled the plastic channel that clips into the door surround. I found that if I put the side windows in the roll long ways (perpendicular to the roll) the problems went away. I've had mine stored in there for weeks at a time with no issues at all.

Default Confused about the rolls...

I'm confused about the window rolls.

My side windows (2010 Unlimited) have two firm edges that are 90 degrees to each other. The one edge that faces the door has plastic in it, and the other edge on the bottom has plastic in it as well (the portion that secures it to the chassis).

I don't understand how you would roll this up. Do you roll the bottom plastic portion up. It is somewhat plyable, but you can't possibly roll it very tightly.

Just wondering if my side windows are somehow different (perhaps changed in 2010?), or if the Clover Patch Window Roll would work.

You would want to roll the plastic side that secures it to the tub. The other side that clips into the door surround has a 90 degree bend in it and will look funky if you roll it up. That's what I did the first time I rolled mine, but they came right out of it they first time they got in the sun. The flat plastic piece that clips into the tub isn't phased by rolling.

Sounds good. Thanks for the feedback.

I just got nervous based on the following...

allthingsjeep.com

It says "This version Window Roll is designed for Jeep® 2007-2009 4 door JK Wranglers. "

I think it is just unrevised data (date not updated) - basically saying its for a JK Unlimited.

--- I just placed my order for the Clover Patch from Quadratec ---

I made a 3 ply roll up out of Musilin. each window goes between the layers then it all rolls up in one of those hardware store plastic bag openers for large trashbags for when your bagging leaves. The plastic has a rolled memory and it keeps the windows from unravelling and protected.
