Better put that college degree to work pretty quickly

Just to keep on topic - I pay $453 twice a year with Farm Bureau. Age = somewhere between 35 & 45 and a spotless record.

You guys in the States are going to feel a lot better after this:

$223 per month (that's about $220 US) for full coverage. This is INCLUDING my 20% discount.

We have only 1 insurance company (ICBC) in British Columbia, so there are no price wars... ICBC can set whatever price they want and not worry about competition.

Does anybody have a greencard I can borrow?

Yeah, I hear ya mate. Something will turn up, you're young and educated so your chances are great if your patient and can ride out the economic storm for another year or two.

I'm with ya on that one. Us Manitoba guys have to buy off of MPIC no other competition, and I pay $1200 a year for "pleasure" insurance. i.e. I don't drive it to work

I think insurance prices have gone up again as we are renewing our insurance for the next six months and we use to pay $902 every six months on a 2000 Toyota, 2008 jeep and a 2010 camaro both jeep and camaro were full coverage. I sold my camaro and now they are quoting us like $1,159 for two cars with just one on full coverage. Its crazy how much prices have jumped! Anyone know of a reasonable company that yall recommend? Sorry OP didn't mean to jack your thread.

also effective 1/1/10 your state has increased the min liability limits. I don't recommend the min limits but fyi if you are bc you will also see an increase.

$450/year

PS: And that's for Full Coverage with Multi vehicle discount and having my home owners insurance with them. My wife's Fusion is around $525/year.
