Ive got a ton of Jeep Rewards Points on my Visa so I get free oil change every 3k miles

 

Not to change the topic, but I've got that same Jeep Rewards Visa. My wife and I use this card for virtually every purchase we make, small or large.

Over the years, I've earned (and used) a LOT of points towards free repairs/parts... they really help counteract the costs of busting up my Jeep.

 

Aren't you defeating the purpose of synthetic by changing every 3K ? I would go 6K, save 50% and use that to buy more Jeep stuff ! - just a thought.

 

every 3-4k andI use synthetic......why?.....Peace of mind, and I have never had major engine issues on any vehicle.

 

yeah i think im gonna keep changing it every 3,000 miles.

 

I use Mobil 1 and change it every ~4500 miles. If I did more highway driving I would increase the interval but most of my driving is in stop-and-go city traffic.

 

Currently using Synthetic blend w/Mopar oil filter. First oil change at 1500 mi, second at 3000 mi. Now will start changing the oil every 3500 miles...Still contemplating whether I should switch to fully synthetic

 

Some say 3k, some say 5k or more. I run synthetic and just say hell with it and do it every 4k!

 

Same here. I figure for the little amount it costs to have an oil change, why not treat the Jeep to something fresh every 3000 miles.
