Default Huge price increases in Jeep JK parts - Quadratec Catalog

I received my new Quadratec catalog (Holiday Edition 2011) in the mail today. While flipping through it I noticed that the RealWheels Pre-Runner Light Bar
For 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK (Quadratec Part No: 12001.920X) that I was looking to possibly purchase has raised in price $60 since the last catalog (Bonus Edition 2011). Sixty (60) dollars ($199.99 vs 139.99)? What? For the very same light bar? What is up with that? I checked their website and it is not a mis-print, as the website now has been changed to $199 also. Can someone please explain to me why this would increase so much? I think I just changed my plan!

Because they can.

Look around the cost of everything has skyrocketed.

Simply because there is a higher demand.

I really wanted Mountain Off Roads NEW Hide-A-Step, BUT $115 PER SIDE!!! NOT SET....

$115 for set sounds fair but per side is crazy talk. You can get SET of full rock sliders from other companies for $100 more and these things aren't a quarter of the size

manufactures website list is 264. Cheapest I saw it was 170 at Morris. Crazy how it varies but based on the gap looks like the supply cost is up.

The pricing is all set by the manufacturer. We follow MAP pricing policies strictly, so when they say "hey, these are going up on this date." We make the change. I can assure you that we didn't raise these on our own to corner people into buying them at a higher price. I've got 3 in stock, and if you're interested in it still, I'll waive the shipping costs. Just send me a PM if you'd like, and we can get it set up.

Supply and demand. Demand goes up, suplly goes down. When the demand goes high, prices have to go up to keep supply in check.

Thanks Joe. Not blaming you. Just thought this was a huge jump for an item that didn't change. At this price, not sure I'm as interested in that bar. I have to re-think my plan.

Like it or not, the customer sets the price.

They bump cuz people will pay.

Stop buying and watch what happens.

Pretty simple, really.
