Just out of curiosity have you tried calling your insurance company?

As far as calling your insurance co (as suggested previously) If they were to cover it it will come back to bite you in the butt
in the form of higher rates.

Ask me how I know.

Here in Dallas, on Craigslist there was a 3.8 motor, trans, and wiring harness for $1,800. I think the guy had 10-20K miles on it. I just looked and couldn't find it again. He had taken it out for a hemi swap. I found it yesterday but it's showing deleted.

Good luck finding one. Check Craigslist and call around.

Ive heard of auto insurance covering accidental hydro lock.

As in, I was driving down the highway, there was a standing water on the road, it didnt look deep, I drove in, then pow! motor blew up.

But they almost always deny 'off-roading' damage.

As in; "I went down to the lake to go WHEELIN' an I was followin my buddy in his 6 inch lifted rubicon with 37s and he crossed the stream, so I tried it in my stock X and sank, then the hood went under the water, and bang! I had to get towed out by a tractor "

Never know, insurance might cover it. I have this thing with my insurance company where the first claim is free and won't bring my insurance rates up, but that's because I haven't had any claims on it yet.

if you cracked a cylinder you would have pressure in the rad and would be pushing prestone out through the over flow. i think that you should get a second opinion.if its a bent rod replace it . if its a light click and the engine is not running rough it may not be much.

Jeeps catch on fire.....just saying....

Really though, sorry to hear about your Jeep. Hope the insurance thing works out!

I have seen several engines on Craigslist and some local 4x4 sites and clubs.

Has anyone look at your exhaust manifolds for leakage? The cold water can crack them. That would make a ticking sound.
