Unhappy Hydrolock

heres a message that i wish i didnt have to write was going threw some 1 foot puddles at a high rate of speed enough to splash water over the top of my roof and staled and wouldnt start after that lights worked but wouldnt turn over so towed it to the shop and found out it was hydrolocked and the warrenty did not cover it so far im over $4000 and wont have my jk back for a week so im staying away from the water untill i get a snorkel so be careful when playing in the water or you may be makin the puddles yourself

Did you check and see if your insurance would cover it? Most of them consider that the same way they would if your jeep was caught in a flood.

Were you running a Cold Air intake?

I dunno if that's going to help. This guy and another guy THIS WEEK hydrolocked their engines and both had the stock air intake.

Either I got very lucky or it is hard to get water in a cone air filter because I've gone through 1 ft puddles at high speed on at least 3 occasions. One of those occasions I hit the puddle so hard I had a sheet of water come up over the hood, over the windshield, and into my cab (with the front 2 hardtop pieces off).

I have the airaid CIA.

man i kinda know how ya feel! except mine is still running. but very bad. i m afraid i am gonna have to pay for mine too. here is what i was doing though and i do run a cold air intake. mine still runs and by no means is hydrolocked. i ve got it narrowed down to water in the gas or something with the computer.

ok, you guys are making me nervous.

Would like a snorkle but they seem a bit over the top.

Here was last weekend.
