Hydrolock
I'm curious to those who splashed through a deep puddle at speed and had this problem how many of you removed the plastic air dam below the bumper. Maybe it's for more than just looking like crap.
This is correct... It is also a splash shield like every other truck out there has. Its molded for this reason and doubles as a gap guard.
Personally, I think snorkels are stupid.
When do you really need one? If you're so deep in the water that you need a snorkel, it's too late, you already got electrical issues and water shortening out everything in your TIPM and busting up all your fuses. All a snorkel does is makes you think you're invincible to water and then you get in trouble. Also, they get ripped off on trees all day long.
Just don't get the water level get above your air box and there's not really a way to hydrolock.
Airraid, 3 feet water, no problem.

I'm not running snorkel yet either, but I stay the hell away from water.
