I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I have a good amount of mods on it and it only has 12,500 miles on it.


I MAY sell my jeep to carmax. In Kelly blue book it is valued at about 22-23k.

How much do u think Carmax will give me?

Carmax doesn't factor in or pay for the mods so if its possible, swap them out and sell them. I had a nice truck with a lot of mods and the appraiser lady told me all of this.

but my guess is they'll give you 14-16k "let me know if i win!"

$17,900 if no dents or dings. I have a friend who works there & had him run the numbers. He said he would never sell a car to Carmax. They basically look at trade in & deduct 6%

I have been told they low ball this is why they have the haggle price.
I would be interested in seeing what they offer.

I hate Carmax! I wanted to see what they would give me for a couple of cars...and it was a respectable LOW BALL! But they will cut you a check right there, so that is a good thing about them. They will not give you the value of your mods..at all. BUT, you never know until you try.

If you look at what the going auction prices are for the vehicle (black book) and deduct 6-10%, that usually what is being offered by MOST places right now.

I took a bone stock 2010 JKU Sport to Carmax after i had stripped all of my mods off. It had 21k miles and they offered me $19.2k for it. Good luck....
