Default I REALLY need a pep talk...

I'm sitting at 10wks today waiting on my Rubicon Unlimited and I'm losing my patience with the manufacturer. It's been in a status of D for 6wks now with no ship date.

Yeah team. Does that help? I know I'm a smart ass but I will guarentee when you finally get it you will love it. Just think of all the time you have to plan out mods based on what others have done you don't get to be a guinea pig but can refine yours based on others work. If I were you I would be reading every writeup and doing a whole lot of cut and paste into MS word so I could print out a bunch of instructions on things to do. I would also be getting supplies like paint for the locks, doors off mirrors, and maybe even a bumper so I could make a shorty to bolt on when I got it.

Yeah, thanks man. I'm feelin it a little. I didn't even think about the mirrors.

I've got my build so far, now I just need the money:

- Shrockworks stubby with tube in black
- 2.5" Teraflex lift (maybe, I've read some posts that make me wonder)
- 35" xTerrain Pro-comps for 15" wheels
- 15" wheels w/ JK bolt pattern

Though, it will all take me a while to outfit, but since I'm waiting for so long, I guess I can go slow on the build out too.

Has anyone else out there had to wait longer than 12wks?

Hi, I just got my Sahara on Saturday. It took over 4 months to arrive. I feel your pain.

Yeah, WOW. 4 months!?!? I think I'll lose it if it gets to that. I'm already demanding an explanation at this point - though I don't think I'm going to get any.

I feel better knowing that I haven't had to wait that long, but now I wonder if I will .

Oh well, it's all good.

I didn't notice the link below your post, I thought you were talking about the poster above. After reviewing and looking at the link, lol. Now I'm convinced NOT to settle for a Sahara or X. I'll just wait it out.

Thx

Well if hearing about a 4 month wait made you feel better, call me the holiday Cheermeister! I've been waiting over 10 months for my Rubi Unlimited (finally got a June 13th build date)! And there are quite a few people that have had to wait 6+ months for their JKs, particularly the Rubicon model. Check out all 173 pages of this thread, if you want to hear all the gory details of waits over the 2007 model year: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-talk-26/check-status-your-jeep-jk-wrangler-order-status-codes-161/. Also if you search around there are a number of threads about wait times, even a poll.

The good news is that you shouldn't have to wait that long. More good news is that since you're in D status, you should get an 07 build (early July build date at the latest). Although I haven't got mine yet, from what I hear they are worth it, so spend the time saving up for mods. And yes, you probably will never get an acceptable explanation for your extended wait (supply and demand is Jeep's biggest problem right now), but you have been waiting a while in D, so I would continue to pester your dealer and Jeep to make sure you move to D1 soon.

Good luck - hopefully I've cheered you up!

Well, I do feel better after some of those stories. I probably need to lay off my dealer then. I've been in D status for about 6wks, but at least it's gonna be built.

Thanks all.

Nope do not lay off the dealer. I know it does not help to get you your jeep any faster as orders are delivered on the basis of allocation and it has nothing to do with order date. It does however give you a place to vent your frustrations and I figure you are paying enough to give them a call about once a week and vent.

As for timing - Cab76 is the waiting patiently poster child. I think a lot of us have thought of inviting him down to at least let him drive one in the mean time!

Regardless of wait, and minor (ok some are major) annoyances - even skibum is still active in the forum.

Stick around - there usually are several threads to keep you busy during your wait.

Plus you can always look for the boat - or recently - the remote...
