i understand being hardcore but...
I've got a Jeep buddy at work that drives a YJ.
His wife was driving it down I-25 and the hard top flew off. She drove home, picks him up, they return to get the top, and someone stole it from the side of the road!
Up until last week when it got very cold, the poor guy was driving it topless. Saw him one day walking in from the parking lot carrying two blankets and wearing a coat, hat, gloves, scarf, and ski goggles!

it was 30 when i left this am and i took the driver side off the front only so i could see the beautiful blue sky.
i have always rolled with the top off and windows down regardless of temp ( as long as it is not raining ) and the heat cranked.
ill attribute it to our habit of 'aclimatizing' on the way up the mtn to snowboard back in the 80's.

Spring and Fall here I will have cool mornings with warm afternoons. My temp tolerance is about 45 Deg for a top and doorless ride to work. Its just 25 miles, any longer and the temp would be a little higher.
I've done it...
Used to keep the doors/top down most of the year in Idaho....in the late winter/early spring (Mar-Apr) it would be cold at night (20s) and nice in the afternoon (60s). If I had to run out somewhere at night, you'd freeze. I remember one night I had to run out down the highway to get somewhere and it was 23 degress out. I had jeans, hoodie and leather jacket on and still freezing.

when i was still living in texas and in highschool i had a cj7 and didnt have much of a top for it. on the way to school i would be bundled up with the defroster on since that was the only vent for the heater.
it was pretty chilly during the winter, usually below freezing.

Back in my younger days (a looooong time ago), I drove a CJ with no top or doors all year around. The top had disintegrated with age, and I was a poor college student and couldn't afford to replace it. I remember clearing the snow off my seats with a shovel before heading off to my morning class. Good times.
Too old for that now, though. And todays Jeeps aren't made for that, with all the electronics and stuff. Still fun to remember.
