Edit.

I like the expanded metal "floor" versus a solid piece. Sometimes I wish it could flip up like the Rampage rack does. It is pretty solid. I've had 25 gallons (10 x 2.5 gal containers) of water loaded on it no problem. At 8 lbs a gallon that's 200 pounds. The side rails are 4" high and you can place a tie down or a bungee pretty much anywhere along the perimeter. Reaching in to get something from right in back of the seats can be a pain. Worse if the Jeep is still stock height. After I had the Jeep lifted it was easier. Hope this helps.
Thanks alot for your thoughts. I did look at the Rampage just because of the flip-up option it gives you. However I like the mounting system that Kilby uses.

I was just looking at the Rampage Rack again. It mounts something like the Kilby Rack. But the Rampage Tilts, whitch is nice. But it also looks like the Rampage mounts just a little off center. Closer to the drivers side. But this may just because of the angle of the photo's taken........

I found a couple more pics I took this past summer when I had the soft top on.

I really like the look of the Bestop Mod Rack. But they don't offer it for the Unlimited. I also looked a the Tuffy and really don't care for it. What else is out their ?

Who is running what rack, and what are your thoughts on the rack you picked ?
Just curious. Not looking to bash, just educate meself, but what don't you like about the Tuffy?

The Tuffy is more of a big metal storage box rather than a cargo tray.

If I wanted to fold the rear seat down to carry something long I would'nt be able to do it with the Tuffy, because of the front metal wall.....

The front metal wall is in place with thumb screws. It can come out fairly easily if needed, but still has pretty good security when in place.

Yep, is does come out. But then you got to find a place to put it. It seems better not to have it at all.

All iam looking for is a cargo rack, not a safe.

Going to contact Bestop first to see if they are going to offer anything for the Unlimited. If not, it's going to between Kilby, and Rampage.

Hmm...Definitely see your point. Been researching this one a long while. I carry alot of Sh*& in the back of my Unlimited (I'm a firefighter), but I live in the city and have no off-street parking and I need safe keeping, as well. For me, the compromise is ok....especially because the wife got me the Tuffy rear security deck for Christmas and who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth?? Please post pics of what you go with. I really dig the shelf idea, too!!

Don't get me wrong, the Tuffy is'nt bad, just not what iam looking for.

I run my Hardtop ALL the time. So it's not like I need to worry alot about a lockable storage area. So all I need is just a cargo shelf.

Hope to have everything thought out by the 1st of the year, so will update everyone with what I end up with. Just wish Bestop made their rack for a Unlimited.....

ARinmyJK,
Thanks for posting your photo's......

Are there any low profile racks that sit at/below the body line? I don't want the rack to be visible from the side when the hardtop is removed.

Doubtful. Most of the racks appear to be designed to clear the factory subwoofer
