The Jeep isn't as good of a convertible car as I hoped
Oh and......are you sure you're not a little old lady...???

I disagree with the premise. I think the JK is an awesome convertible due to the versatility. I have owned several convertibles and the JK is the best until you get above 70 mph. Yes it is windy with the doors off so don't do that unless it is above 90 degrees. With full doors on and use of the windows and heater I have complete comfort all the way down to 25 deg F. So enjoy all your options, doors or no doors, top or no top, windows or no windows.

I kind of expected the sarcastic responses but I appreciate the honest suggestions. I'm not giving up on the Jeep by any means and I'll keep trying different configurations to make it more pleasant during scenic drives. And I'm planning on some backwoods driving on the dirt roads in the Ouachita National Forest next door (wouldn't want to do that with a Porsche).
I took a test drive with the top totally down but didn't get a chance to do anything with the doors off. I doubt any dealer would let you do that.
And if it doesn't pan out I'll trade it in on some other open top vehicle and benifit from the good resale value. It's too bad there are no inexpensive small convertible cars being made right now. Something like a convertible version of a Cruze or Elantra.
This is my second Jeep. I had a 94 with the square headlights and the 2.5 four cylinder. I had both tops on that one. The new Jeep is obviously much better in most ways but I think the old one steered better and felt more sporty because it was lighter.

Here is the perfect vehicle for you...
I've done some highway while door/topless (less than 100km) on some really nice days... yeah it's windy, but it's also freedom. Brings back the days of when you could ride your peddle bike without a helmet.
Doorless around town isn't a big deal. But put the doors on, and go topless on the highway, and you do not get nearly as much wind as without the doors.

As a few suggested, if the wind is a problem keep the doors on. Going naked in a Jeep (naked Jeep, not driver) and complaining about the wind is like going naked to the beach and complaining about the sunburn on your ass.
X2
I have the dirty dog mesh tops (front and rear) and they work great at keeping the sun off my head, keeping the interior cooler and cutting down on the wind. But then again, the wind does not bother me so I cannot say that is the only reason you should go out and buy it or that it will solve your dilemma.
