Cool Jeep J8 Military Pick-Up Truck

Well, I suppose if we're going to be talking about the possibilities of a new Jeep truck, it would only make to talk about and show an actual one that is already being made - the Jeep J8. As some of you may already know, the Jeep J8 is a pick-up truck made for the military, based almost entirely on the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited platform and even comes with a diesel engine but, it is unfortunately only available overseas. Here is some more info about it from Wikipedia:

The J8 also differs from the civilian model by utilizing rear leaf springs. The Jeep J8 is powered by a VM Motori 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 118 kW (158 hp) and 400 N·m (295 lb·ft) of torque, providing towing capability of up to 3,500 kilograms (7,716 lb). The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. The J8 also features a unique air-intake system with special filtration and a hood-mounted snorkel that enables the J8 to wade in water up to 762 mm (30 in) deep and tackle sandstorm conditions for up to five hours.

Available as a two-door with an extended pickup bed for personnel or equipment transport, or a four-door multipurpose vehicle, it may be produced with numerous vehicle-body and seating configurations in either right-hand- or left-hand-drive.

While not designed for front-line combat operations, the Jeep J8 is fully armour capable (BRV 2009 VR7) and can be used for a variety of duties ranging from command vehicle, troop/cargo carrier, ambulance or communications vehicle. Heavy-duty bumpers with tow eyes allow the Jeep J8 to be easily transported by fixed wing aircraft or helicopter.
If you think about it, it might just be as easy for Chrysler to work with what they already have and modify the J8 into a Jeep pick-up truck that can be sold worldwide. Anyway, here are a bunch of photo that we took of one on display back in 2008...

Man that's pretty cool! I like the bed much better than the Gladiator's and to come equipped with a diesel would be great too!

I like the 2.8l-Diesel. It's all about torque, it's so much nicer offroad. You don't the skinny-pedal
Seems like it's having our european stubby under this plastic obstacle as front bumper, just with D-rings instead of towhooks:

Love the bumpers on this thing, and the paint scheme too.

If that's all there is to it why did he even put up the thread. We'll all go sit in the driveway and look at our own Jeeps. Many of us need 4dr vehicles. why do so many members have a chip on their shoulder?
