Jeep Model Differences
And btw, there is only one type of cloth seats - "Everest/Wallace II Cloth" - standard on all three models. You other choices are leather or going with the Mountain or Islander packages.
I guess those rich, velvety (bullshit) stain resistant (uh-huh) Yes Essentials didn't fulfill their marketing promise...
Like I said: "If there is such a thing." The fact that there are luxury options on the other models isn't relevant to my comment. It's that the Sahara cannot be purchased without the luxury options. And, maybe it's changed, but 24s did not come with power convenience group in the past.
Power windows and door locks were added in 2007 to Jeeps to appeal to that market segment while keeping the distinctive Jeep iconic symbolism. The painted fenders and the mandatory inclusion of these luxury items on the Sahara make it the Jeep luxury model. Perhaps you believe that luxury models are Lincolns and Cadillacs and Mercedes Benz, and so on. However, there have been many LX models of even very cheap cars over the years--LX used by the manufacturers to imply the "luxury" model of that vehicle line. They were made available with certain luxury options, just as the Sahara is. Sorry if that sticks in your craw, but that's the way it is.

Don't forget the 18" wheels, which are Sahara-only. Not my thing, but they look nice. And doesn't the Sahara come with different shocks than the X or Rubi?
I think Mark is right, and the Sahara represents Jeep's attempt at offering a "luxury" Wrangler. Note the word "attempt."

I really kinda wish they didnt have a "luxury" package. all that does is encourage non-jeepers to consider getting one so they can play pimp my ride at home with their boyz.

I cant stand pulling up to someone (with less off road experience than my 3 y.o. cousin on a barbie power wheel) pumping out the base while their newly polished 24" chrome spinners glistenin the sunlight while they proudly show off their black jeep unlimited.
I just wanna puke.

The RHD isn't meant to be a daily driver...Its a rural mail truck. Where I live, the countrymail carriers drive their own vehicle and about half have TJs or JKs.

Painting the fender flares and making a few options standard is far from luxurious.

Sorry if that sticks in your craw, sir.
