I like this. Just keep the radio and speakers. The highway drives to the trail kinda need it. Delete door and trunk sensors instead. Cut hole in hood for snorkel with insertable trim piece. Add Rubicon wheels and tires instead of the stock Goodyears

It's a cool idea but you might as well buy a Rubicon for what you'll pay for this.

Adding a Dana 44 to the front will add a few hundred.

They aren't going to take anything off the price tag for leaving off the carpet, bet on it.

I could be wrong on this one but I believe a radio is a mandatory item now so that drivers can get information during severe weather or natural disasters while they are in their car. If they have to evacuate New Orleans again for instance. Again, that could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a radio is mandated on new cars.

Sport bar padding may be required by the feds as well so you don't bump your head, but I could be wrong on that too.

They can't delete a bumper, I know for a fact that it's government mandated.

Cutting a hole in the hood for a snorkle will raise the vehicle price even if there is no snorkle attached because it takes longer on the assembly then. More labor = higher price.

Rubicon wheels and tires are also obviously going to raise the price.

The Jeep you guys are describing would likely only have the carpet and door sensors removed and I'm not so sure they are allowed to remove the door sensors. With all the stuff you've added this Jeep could easily be in the 28 to 30 K range. In short, you just built a carpetless Rubicon.

Thats the whole point all the running gear of the rubicon less everything else. I know the radio is NOT mandatory, but as for the other sensors you may be right. This is just a perfect world senario for me is all. A JK with all the rubicon running gear and a stripped interior. As for the bumpers I should have been more specific, the plastic bumper covers, the steel beam with the crush cans you have to have on it.
If you could get chrylser or fiat to build one like that i know it would be a niche vehicle, but wouldnt it be nice to buy an off-raod or builders package? Stripped interior, no frills, no a/c, just solid running gear and enough gizmos to keep it street legal????
