I don't know about that, maybe the late years have the set up, but I have yet to hear of a JK actually stolen. About the only way to steal it is using a flat bed truck or someone with mad IT skills to bypass the security codes. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it takes a lot more work than it used to.

The YJ uses a Saginaw column, ( GM). This housing is made from pot metal and can be defeated with a flat-tip screwdriver in about 10 SECONDS. The square Chrysler column prior to the JK has an ignition switch made of plastic and pot metal. The cylinder can be pryed out in about 30 SECONDS. Both types can then be started with a screwdriver. I don't believe the chip keyed vehicles can be started even with the column pryed apart.

Try googling on defeating the SKIS system. It has been cracked since 2003. All it takes is a laptop, dent puller, and 30 seconds. It pulls the algorithm used to solve the "math problem" from the PCM and the .......... just google.
A long time ago the only criminals smart enough to do it would be more inclined to steal a Mercedes or a Porsche. But now you can learn how to do it in the hood in ATL. JKs, Chargers, etc. are stolen everyday.

New Anti-theft / Car jacking device
http://www.tunersgroup.com/Forced_Ig...eft/index.html
you can also look it up on youtube "forced ignition"
May just be cheaper to get a starter interupt or fuel cutoff switch installed for theft, but this is good in the event of a car jacking.

I personally use a "club" on all my vehicles....an alarm or the club is a good deterrent for most car thieves. If the guys wants the vehicle bad enough he will take it anyway.......A car thief can get around a Club if they really want to....all they do is use a hacksaw, cut through the wheel, then push/pull the wheel apart enough to get one side of the club off.....still alot of work, but like I said if they want it they will take it....
