Default jerry can mounting methods / locations???

picked up an old WW2 jerry can in mint shape, and i wanna mount it to my jk. theres the thing, i dont have a tire carrier and i dont have a cargo carrier on my jeep to keep it. where is another place i can put it? ive seen people mount there to the hinge of the tail gate some how! any ideas or pics out there guys? gimme a hand

Without an after market tire carrier your only option is the mount that goes through the spare wheel center (can't find the post that has pics, sorry). However, I would not really trust those on the trail as the tire tire holder is not really rated to hold another 40lbs.

I know some people strap it in on the inside, but I personally have major concerns with that, so I don't recommend it.

There are some after market tire holders that just replace the stock one, you might be good with that and the holder, but beware the strain on the door and hinges as well.
