Default JK Second Seat Options

Hello all,

I’m new here. Just trying to think of new mods. One thing I’ve been thinking here recently is the amount of time I keep my back seat up. I was just wondering if anyone had anything neat or different they did with the back of their 2dr JK once they take the back seat out? I have yet to take the back out.. just flipped out. Just curious about options!

Have always taken the back seat out and done nothing. Probably gonna get a weather tech liner for it this time but that's it here.

If you head offroad AND you never use that back seat, I'd imagine you could build yourself a raised platform storage "trunk" like several have done with our 4drs. I have a "trunk" structure raised about 5" off the floor with a hinged panel that lifts it up from the rear. It's large enough that I get all my trail tools in there for a wheelin trip, low enough I can still set things on it like groceries and they are well below tub height, and it's secure once the tailgate is closed and locked so someone can't just lift it up and take my tools. The genesis of this was carrying a lot of money in tools on wheelin trips and often having to leave the jeep unsecured in a parking lot for eating or running errands or a hotel parking lot overnight on long trips. I have pictures of mine on here somewhere, but I generally followed ronjenx's model from long ago.

Mine is bolted down via the factory tie downs in a 4dr so I could remove it if I ever want to. Not sure how you could secure something like that to the tub in a 2dr. Anyhow, might not be practical for you but an idea none the less.

I found some old pictures of my first version in post #11 on this link below. I redid that and refined it in version 2.0 when I bedlined my tub years ago.
