I agree with zjnoob, it's scary to think about tearing up a brand new JK that is still being paid on.

At the same time though, that's what it's built for! It's just a little more refined.

Both great vehicles, but I feel my JK is superior to my former TJ in every way.

well i think i might go with a LJ unlimited as its significantly less then a JK, and ive found ones wiht less then 40,000 miles. Plus LJs look great on 35s!

I loved all three of my TJs--I kept my 03 Rubicon for 5 years which is a personal record for me!

However, I always needed a 4 door jeep, so when they didn't build the Dakar, I had to wait until the JK came out. It was well worth the wait IMO.

It's much easier to lift and not have a domino effect of issues like lifting my TJs did.

There are many more pluses than minuses in the JK over the TJ.

I do miss my NV3550 5 speed, but I'm learning to love the 6 speed more and more every day.

own both, both are great, the JK is superior in just about every respect. My TJ is much easier to strip down but thats because it has half doors and a soft top... the JK is much better on the road and is superior in the daily driver category. stock vs stock, there is no comparison, just take a look at the departure angles and you'll see... The TJ only cost me $2,500 bucks though, and i'm going to be paying on the JK for another 4 years.... bottom line, The JK is better (especially if you're tall) and if I end up keeping it for a decade+ it will have been well worth it. I like it so much, it would be great if it's my last vehicle.

the only thing i miss about my 97 TJ was the ability to drive it how i wanted to. and by i'm referring to the computer on the JK. even when i "turn off" TCS, it still feels like it wants to drive it self.

other than that i love my JK.

I don't think the JK is superior in every way.
TJ has thicker sheet metal.
The TJ has Sills at the bottom of the door so water doesn't get in.
The TJ NV3550 5-spd is better than the new 6 spd.
A little less plastic on the TJ.
The back seat on the 2 door is easier to get into on the TJ.

I miss my TJ, but it was pretty beat down when I got rid of it.
