Default JK's in the rain

Just curious as this is my first Jeep. If I get caught in the rain is there anything special I need to do to dry it out.??

I have the bestop bikini on so that will help but I do not have the duster for the back so that entire area will get soaked in rain.

Under the carpet there are drain plugs; pull them out. As far as the rear, you will have to open the compartment and soak up the water with some rags - there are no plugs in there. Other than that, it's the summer.... open it up (doors off - top off) and let it air dry.

Mine has a plug there. If you are gonna drive like that (and I did till it got too hot) water getting in is inevitable. Pull the plugs unless you plan to ford water then put them back in go through and pull once on the other side. I did find out the jack storage area does hold a little water as well (it can't run out). Make sure you dry it out or your jack will rust. I would recomend pulling carpet but it is not necessary it will dry out.

You are correct. There is a plug back there, but I did mean the jack area.
Water is inevitable. Just make sure you keep your dash covered. Another member had their JK stall because it got water behind the dash. His dried out and is working well.

x4 on the plugs. Best thing we ever did was pull the plugs in our TJ and leave them out!

These things were designed for more than the average vehicle.

In the brochure....Jeep says that one of the features is a 'Unique washout interior' and shows some schmo taking a hose to it. I have washed my jk out with the hose once (the jk is less than a month old) and I was pleased with the results. There are drain plugs in the floor board and the doors have drain holes in the bottom. So I wouldn't worry about gettin the interior wet...just use common sense....i.e. around the electrical stuff...

Well it helps that the carpet in our JK's was designed NOT to hold water... the only part that holds water is the thick white heat insulation on the trans hump.... other than that, the rest of the carpet will dry in minutes outside the vechicle... hell you can pull the carpet soaking wet, hold it up and watch all the water run off and watch it dry..... as far as carpet goes, this stuff rocks.

If the back gets wet I use an ice scraper. I know it sounds weird but one side is straight, and other side jagged. Just "sweep" the carpet with the straight side towards the rear of the jeep, then soke up the rest with some towels.

X6 on the pull the drain plugs and if it get's wet, open it up and let it sit in the sun.

I have a hardtop but bought the MOPAR 4-door weather cover (silver to reflect heat) for when I get caught from home topless. You can't drive obviously but it beats getting everything soaked.
