Default Just installed Clearplex for windshield

Finally received my Jeep JK clearplex kit. I have been through countless windshields so if this doesn't work I am buying the 21MIL bulletproof windshield film!! I just don't have time to keep replacing this thing...

$99 bucks for the kit specifically for the JK - lets hope it does the job!

Thats a pretty cool product, I have never had any issues with my stock glass on an 07 but that does add extra security I may have to look into this.

Are you going to put it to the test?

Im curious to how it actually works. I watched the video on their site but it didn't show anything after they had installed it. Just a factory unprotected windshield getting demolised by rocks. I may have to order a kit for my jeep.

I'm on windshield #3 and just noticed a pretty good sized chunk of glass missing from my passenger side edge.

Guessing #4 isn't far away.

Let us know how this stuff works out. Optical clarity, wiper scrathces, etc. So far I'm about a new windshield every year.

I'm a rain-X addict BTW, (I live in Seattle, gimme a break). If this stuff can't be rain-x'd 10 times a year I might have to pass.

OK so I am on my second day and while driving day or night, I can't tell its there other than obviously knowing. I used the wipers about 20 cycles on the way to work and so far so good.

It is supposed to snow this weekend so I'll update. I have already rain x'd and all appears normal.

My buddy at work turned me on to this stuff and swears by it but advised today that he uses 2 applications on top of one another. He commutes 65 freeway miles a day and has yet to get a star or crack, so I'll give this one by itself a go and see what happens.

Just for clarity, I drive 40 miles a day freeway to/ from work and weekend offroad. 6th windshield in a year.

I am very interested in this. I constantly am getting hit by rocks out of dump trucks on my way to work.

Just an update on this- I have yet to have even one star in the windshield. I have had a few hits while on the freeway and you can see the mark but I just wipe it off and its gone.

No scratching from the wipers as of yet. Stuff works great.
