Keep dog in back

I have an unlimited and always have the back seat down. I keep my Dog (Karelian Bear Dog) on a 6 foot leash and wrap it around once in the middle of the roll bar. If you wrap it around twice he has free roam of the back and cant get into the front seat. However he loves to sit in the passenger seat when I drive and doesnt cause any trouble or mess.

We have an American Bulldog and bought a seatbelt friendly harness for him. Not only does it keep him where we want him, but in the event of an accident, he's slightly less projectile as well.
