Default Leather steering wheel skins

The steering wheel on my 2009 JKU has worn on the outside of the steering wheel. I'ld like to put a black leather cover over the wheel.

Has anyone put a leather steering skin on their steering wheel? I'm looking for something that is not big and bulky, looks stock and has a snug fit. I'ld prefer one that is stitched on, so it doesn't slip and come off easily.

Any recommendations?

Any ideas of what size I should be looking?

Thanks, been shopping around and those are definitely the best I found. I was just wondering if there was maybe something that was more custom fit for the JK.

Default Steering Wheel

Just how much would be involved if you could pick one up from a junkyard or re-cycler?

It's not much work to swap things between the steering wheel, the junkyards just seem to ask a premium for the leather wheels. My standard wheel has some worn spots and softer places in the wheel so I've looked at going with the factory leather. The last one I found was over $100, I think closer to $175 by the time the auction ended.

You could also give redlinegoods.com a try.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked them out, looks like good stuff but $129 for a leather skin cover? Seems a bit much since that puts me into the replacement steering wheel price ranges and I'm not seeing much of a difference over the $50-$60 options from wheelskins.

I saw Rugged Ridge had some wheel skin covers for Jeeps, but I couldn't find one for the JK.

There's a factory leather wheel available for your 2010 or are you thinking of going with a 2011+ swap?

Edit: I think I found it. It looks a lot like the "leather" that's on my current OEM wheel that is now worn.

I would have to go look at my build sheet to be certain, but it seems like I already have the "leather" steering wheel option for my 2009 Sahara. It's more of a rubberized "pleather".

Anyways, here's what my wheel currently looks like. It's not too bad, just an annoying worn ruff spot, but want to cover it before it gets worse. Not really worth spending $175+ and the time to disassemble and replace the entire steering wheel. Likely, going to go with a black leather Wheelskins cover.
