Default Loans

Anyone ever thought about getting a loan to fix up their Jeeps? I just estimated around $6,000 for most, not all, most of the mods I want with tax and shipping.

I could always put 500/month away for a year, but.... one year till my baby looks right?!? I am a little impatient. haha.

Getting a loan to modify the Jeep seems crazy. Just buy the mods you want one at a time.

LOL. I know. I know. I would never in my right mind do that. But I just look at my wish list on Quadratec and wonder if it will ever get done.

That and I was curious if anyone else had thought of it before.

But a loan? On Jeep mods? Im not that crazy.

That is entirely up to you. I have taken out small loans in the past but generally end up paying them off right away. My philosophy is if I can't afford it out of pocket I don't need it. The exceptions being a loan to purchase the Jeep and of course a mortgage.

I would build it as you can afford it. I know that what I thought I was going to do when I bought my Jeep has changed over the past 18 months of ownership.

Pace yourself. Most of us have been working on our Jeeps for a year or two. And they are still growing. If one month you can't afford something expensive, do something cheap. It's a hobby, and while we kid about JA (JK Anonymous) and such, truth is it's never wise to borrow money for modding your Jeep.

Ive thought about doing the 0% interest loan(12 months i think) from discount tire direct. Everything else you can do in increments.

I would say no on the personal loan. I'm too dumb to figure out the math but $6K at about what, 8% interest equals what at the end. Also, shop around for better deals with the vendors we have here. Sometimes they even get overstocked and that part through 1 may be had for a lot cheaper through another.
